What I do for fun: I don’t get a lot of spare time, but when I do, I will be catching up with friends, going out for a dance, and hitting up the beach!

My Life as a Pole Athlete

Dance Background: I danced a little jazz when I was very young, but other than that, I have had no formal dance training until I begand pole dancing.
First time Pole Dance: I had always admired the art of pole dancing, but never knew that males could participate! Finally, after a taste of pole dancing at a friends hens party, I just went ahead and purchased some online pole dancing vouchers for a studio in Brisbane, and never looked back! I began proper training in January 2012.
Favorite Pole Trick: My favourite trick would be spinning aerial deadlifts!
Most inspiring Pole Athlete: My biggest inspiration would be my friend and colleague - Fontaine Bradbury. Her strength, flexibility, style and grace is what I aspire to achieve. I am also strongly inspired by Felix Cane, Marlo Fisken, Anastasia Skukhtorova and Evgeny Greshilov.
Training Times: I train anywhere from 5 to 20 hours per week, depending on shows and classes at the time. I teach throughout the week so I try to fit my own training in around classes.
How I define Pole Dance: My description of pole dancing: a challenging combination of gymnastics, acrobatics, dance, strength and grace! Pole Dance is both a sport and an art, with many beautiful applications and physical challenges.
Pole Dance is...: Strength, Flexibility, Passion
Pole Dance vs. Pole Fitness: Pole Dance: Incorporates more elements of different styles of dance and floor work into the routines, allowing one to really project their own style. Pole Fitness: Incorporates more elements of gymnastics and acrobatics, focusing more on strength and flexibility ticks and combinations both on the pole and floor.
Be a Dancer or Judge: I would prefer to join a competition as a dancer than a judge! However sometimes it is fun to judge as well.
Titles I hold: 2012 International Natural Bodybuilding Association and North Pacific Body Building Male Fitness Model Champion; 2012 Lonestar Mr Pole Fitness; 2013 Australian Pole Fitness Championships Finalist; 2013 Mr Pole Dance Finalist; 2013 International Pole Championships Semi-finalist.
Reason to quit Pole Dancing: The only reason I would stop pole dancing is because I was dead!
