My Life as a Pole Athlete
Dance Background: | I have never taken formal dance lessons, but I
used to perform/dance airbands in grade 3 to the other classes in school during
lunch break! |
---|
First time Pole Dance: | I started October 9th, 1994 in Victoria, BC,
Canada. I needed to make money, so I became a stripper. The dancers were so
beautiful and I wanted to be like them. |
---|
Favorite Pole Trick: | I love handsprings most but enjoy them all. |
---|
Most inspiring Pole Athlete: | Everyone that comes to Pole Expo. I've
invited all my favorites. |
---|
Training Times: | I teach 10-25 hours a week so rerely
practice unless I'm preparing for a performance. |
---|
How I define Pole Dance: | Pole Dance is fitness and art. As a form of
fitness you are training anaerobically, aerobicly and for flexibility. As an art
form, Pole Dance allows you to express emotions and show your soul. Pole Dance
is empowering; life changing; magic. |
---|
Pole Dance is...: | Athletics, Sexy, Fun |
---|
Pole Dance vs. Pole Fitness: | Pole Dance can be what strippers do or
we do in the studio. Pole Fitness is with a fitness goal in mind. Pole Sport is
done in a competitive atmosphere. I speak about this at University of Las Vegas
twice a year. |
---|
Be a Dancer or Judge: | I used to compete in the 90's. I'm really
comfortable and proud to now be a judge! |
