My Life as a Pole Athlete

Dance Background: I have no special dance background. I have been dancing my whole life, but not professional. From the age of eight to 12 I did acrobatics.
First time Pole Dance: I danced in discos as a GoGo-Girl. Some Discos had Poles. I was curious and thought: You can do more than only walk around the pole. So I started to watch videos on YouTube and to learn. Since 2004 I have been dancing around the pole.
Favorite Pole Trick: That's hard to decide, I love so many tricks: Kneehold and Superman.
Most inspiring Pole Athlete: There are so fantastic pole athletes. Every single one inspires me in a different way. The first one was Felix Cane.
Training Times: It depends on if I have shows or competitions. In average one to three times a week, three hours a day.
How I define Pole Dance: Pole Dance is the acrobatic and artistic way of climbing and dancing around the pole. You need strength, flexibility, body tension, persistence and coordination.
Pole Dance is...: Flying, Fun, Dance
Pole Dance vs. Pole Fitness: Pole Dance is, how the name says, the way how you perform (dance) around and up the pole. Pole Fitness has its attention more on the physical fitness. Both are important for a great performance.
Be a Dancer or Judge: Dancer
Titles I hold: Miss Pole Dance Germany 2011/2012; Pre-Selection Miss Pole Dance Germany 2011; Miss Aerial Pole Germany 2010.
Reason to quit Pole Dancing: I never would quit Pole Dancing. A life without pole is no life.
